What to expect for Q1W4:
Math: Students will continue learning about strategies for rounding and estimation.
Language Arts: Students will diagram sentences and identify sentence types.  We will also begin Spalding homework this week.  However, before we begin our regular words lists, we will be completing review pages for the 29 Spalding rules.
History: Students will continue exploring the Articles of Confederation and the Constitutional Convention.

Math: Students will review long division and rounding.
Language Arts: Students will work on summaries, dictation,  continue setting up the Spalding notebook, and begin reading The Wizard of Oz.
Science: Students conduct explorations of mass and states of matter.

Math: Students will review 9-digit numbers and operations of arithmetic.
Language Arts: Students will write summaries and dictation passages, along with a continuation of noun jobs review.
History: Students will discover the roots of the American republic and the development of the U.S. Constitution.

Welcome to the 4th Grade Blog!  Please check here for all 4th Grade news, updated every Monday. We had such a great time with everyone at Meet the Teacher Night and on the First Day of School. Please be prompt dropping off students in the morning and expect some delay during pick-up for the first few weeks.

What to expect for Q1W1:
Math: Students will be reviewing place value and exploring expanded notation with 5 and 6-digit numbers.
Language Arts: Students will read The Empty Pot, write a friendly letter, review cursive handwriting and review nouns.
Science: Students will review science procedures and expectations.

Please send Wizard of Oz by Monday!
