What to expect for Q1W8:

Math: Students will solve multiplication problems involving four-digit numbers.

Language Arts: Students will continue reading Prince Caspian and writing informational texts.  We will also continue diagramming parts-of-speech in grammar, related to adjective and adverb jobs.

History: Students will continue learning about the rise of Medieval Europe, including the roles of St. Benedict and Charlemagne.

Math: Students will solve word problems with addition and subtraction using bar models.

Language Arts: Students will continue working on basic parts of speech in Grammar and procedural how-to booklets in writing.  We will also have out literature celebration for Wizard of Oz and begin reading Prince Caspian.

Science: Students will begin studying mechanical energy.

Math: Students will continue working on multiplication facts.

Language Arts: Students will finish reading The Wizard of Oz.  We will begin our new poem, Captain Kidd, and practice writing Key Word Outlines.

History: Students will celebrate Freedom Week and the finish our study of the U.S. Constitution.  We will also begin our mega-unit on Medieval Europe.

4th Grade Curriculum Night, Thursday 5-6pm

What to expect for Q1W5:

Math: Students will continue working on multiplication facts.

Language Arts: Students will continue reading The Wizard of Oz.  In Grammar, we will begin reviewing adverbs.  We will also work on editing and summaries in Writing.

Science: Students will complete our unit on matter and discover the differences between mixtures and solutions.
