Q4W1: March 28, 2022

  What to expect for Q4W1:


Math: Students will be starting to learn about perpendicular and parallel lines.


Language Arts: 
  • Literature - Students will begin reading he Princess and The Goblin. They will be working on annotating. They will also be reviewing figurative language, and begin looking for examples in their books.
  • Grammar - Students will be working on elements of poetry. They will be continuing a review of homophones, and then begin working on when to use quotations. 
  • Writing - Students will start learning the elements of personal narratives, and begin brainstorming their own. 
History: Students will be learning about Explorers in Texas and the Spanish Missions.

Q3W8: March 21, 2022

 What to expect for Q3W8:


Math: Students will be starting their geometry unit. (NOTE: students will each need a protractor)


Language Arts: 
  • Literature - Students will seminar over Carry On, Mr. Bowditch at the beginning of the week. The rest of the week will be working on reading comprehension and inferencing.
  • Grammar - Students will begin learning about indirect objects.
  • Writing - Students will finish practicing their expository five paragraph papers, and begin to dive into introduction paragraphs and "hooks". 
Science: Students will spend the week reviewing the unit on Sun, Earth, and Moon, preparing for their unit test on Friday.

What to expect for Q3W7:


Math: Reviewing commonly missed concepts from the year.


Language Arts: 
  • Literature - Students will finish Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.
  • Grammar - Students will continue their practice with possessive nouns. 
  • Writing - Students will continue prewriting for their expository five paragraph papers, and begin to dive into introduction paragraphs and "hooks". 
History: Students will continue their study of Texas, learning about its geography and first people.
